As a digital marketer who manages online marketing for several businesses, I have to admit that I have a few tricks up my sleeve that help me manage all of these efforts for several clients.
The first is a process. I have created a cohesive process that helps me save time while still generating results.
The second is the use of resources. Many entrepreneurs don’t realize that there are resources out there that can help you save time and money while still getting you results — and many of them are FREE!
Today, I want to share my top 5 resources that will help make your online marketing easier:
Google Analytics was one of the first resources I dived into. When I started my first business my husband (a web developer) introduced me to this handy dandy and FREE resource. Google Analytics is basically a tool that helps you track your website traffic. You can see things like how many page views you get per day, where they come from (location online, and physical location), how many views your posts get, which pages get the most views, etc. And it’s absolutely FREE! You can learn more about Google Analytics in this blog post.
Mailchimp is probably the second resource I became acquainted with and still use and love to this day! They also offer a FREE version, with paid for several functions. Mailchimp is an easy way to create and grow your email list. They offer easy to use and customize templates, automation, and more! To learn more about how to grow your email list, read this blog post.
Hootsuite is one of my favorite social media scheduling platforms, and I have used a lot of them! With Hootsuite, you can set-up 3 social media accounts and schedule unlimited posts for them for FREE! It’s easy to use, and you can create streams to see your timeline as well as posts you have scheduled. Hootsuite works great for Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin
Did you notice that I didn’t mention Instagram in the third point? That’s because most scheduling platforms will not automatically post to your Instagram. Instead, they will send you a notification and you still have to publish the post. As a social media manager, I found this to be very annoying. Then, I discovered Schedugram! The one platform that will actually automatically post for you. They even have a beta first comment so you can schedule your hashtags as well. It’s not cheap, but it’s well worth the cost!
Lastly, I could not get by without content calendars and analytics trackers. Without these, I have no content to schedule. I start out every month by using a content calendar to plan out content for the entire month, and it makes my life so much easier! Then, I use an analytics tracker to record all of my (and my clients growth) at the end of the month. This helps you see where you might be lacking in your strategy, what is working, and how to improve what you are doing.
All of these are my favorite resources and things I personally use every single week for myself and my clients. They are a part of that process I created (and mentioned earlier) that make it doable for me to manage online marketing for more than one business. If you are having a hard time managing your online marketing, I promise these resources will make your life easier!
